 DCPHP Minimize

The nation's public health infrastructure has not been adequately prepared for rapidly evolving health threats.  Most health departments lack modern electronic systems for rapid disease detection and potential bioterrorism (BT) preparedness and health emergency response.

Our Mission:

To be a statewide model and the most effective multi-disciplinary team whose collective role is to partner with agencies and community members to assist and prepare Denver Public Health, Denver Health and the entire Denver community to efficiently plan and respond to events, disasters and/or public health emergencies.

DCPHP is working to:

  • Strengthen linkages and collaboration across multiple sectors of the emergency response system, building advanced telecommunications and IT capacity;
  • Enhanced emergency communication pathways across Public Health, EMS, Hospitals, Public Safety and Emergency Management agencies;
  • Design and implement handheld computer applications for epidemiologic fieldwork and wireless access to a Web-based surveillance system;
